MESSAGE FROM THE ARTIST
In this day and age where digital technology seems to know no bounds and many artists choose to work with digital media, I choose to focus on traditional means of expressing my creativity. My aim through my choice of media, is to rejuvenate the traditional arts and hold them to higher esteems. Whilst I do accept the truly beneficial nature of digital media, my work seeks to tell a story through the tangible nature of traditional media and seeks to return to the roots of artistic practice.Through my fine art work I aim to tell the female story, whilst through my illustration work I aim to create interesting, lovable and believable characters. I use my work, which is always figurative in nature, to speak far beyond any superficial exterior my work may posses. The ability of images to tell a story resonates in my work. Images translate across barriers of language, race, culture and space to tell a story; thus as an artist, it is imperative that story telling be very important to me. My art in its very essence is a story waiting to be told by the audience .

The WOMA exhibit in Grenada is opening this weekend!!
If you are in the area please check it out! Once again I would like to thank the ladies of WOMA for making this possible, as my first participation in an exhibit in another Caribbean country!
Other exciting news is that I did the design for the trophy for the "NATIONAL SONGS" segment of the Music Festival 2012 , in celebration of Trinidad and Tobago's 50th Year of Independence Anniversary, sponsored by The Ministry of the Arts and Multiculturalism of Trinidad and Tobago.
The trophy is beautifully made of Copper and sits on a Teak base. The crafting of the Trophy was done by Mr Glendon Morris who is well versed in using copper. Much thanks to the Ministry for making this possible as well as Mr Morris for making my design a reality. More images of the Trophy are coming soon to the Published work and Commissions section.
